Start with the rooms you will use
Make a short list of bedrooms, bathrooms, the kitchen and shared spaces that need attention before your arrival. Tell Haven whether the home has been occupied recently and which tasks matter most. A seasonal return may call for a different scope from a routine clean.
- Identify the rooms, surfaces and floors to include.
- Note buildup, delicate finishes or product preferences.
- Ask separately about appliance interiors or deeper cleaning.
Use the house-cleaning scope guide to shape the request; no task is included until agreed.
Agree linens and supplies as distinct tasks
Count the beds and bathrooms you expect to use, then list any linen or supply needs. Washing, changing beds, laundry delivery and restocking are separate scopes; a cleaning request does not include them automatically. Identify who will provide the items and which purchases need approval. For a home used between rental stays, physical turnover preparation is also separate from bookings, guest communication or rental management, which Haven does not provide.
Put the small repair list in order
Review the items you noticed on the previous visit: a sticking door, a loose fixture, a damaged screen or a finish that needs attention. Describe the visible issue and its location in a repair request. Say which items you want considered before arrival. Keep requested work, approved work and completion information distinct; preferred timing is not a confirmed appointment.
Review comfort and systems needs
Note any heating, plumbing, appliance or electrical concerns before the stay. Tell Haven what you know about the home’s current use and any planned seasonal shutdown. Seasonal systems care and qualified trade requests need an agreed scope and appropriate provider. A cleaning visit or Care Visit does not test or certify those systems. Ask for the relevant completed-work information and any unresolved findings.
Include the approach and outdoor areas
List the entrance, paths, garden and outdoor spaces you intend to use. Note visible debris or concerns for grounds and cleanup review, with pool or exterior needs handled separately where relevant. Include any work already arranged so the proposed tasks fit together. Outdoor tasks depend on property conditions, scope and available coverage; do not assume they come with the indoor clean.
Share the stay, then review the plan
Add preferred arrival and departure timing in the request itself, together with your priorities. Keep keys and access codes out of the public form; access is arranged separately after review. Haven brings back the proposed scope, provider, agreement, charges and responsibility for approval.
If you will leave again afterward, discuss an agreed departure reset or Care Visits between stays. These are scheduled limited visual observations, not continuous monitoring, formal inspections or emergency response. Keep completed tasks and outstanding owner decisions together for the next visit.
